Peachy Keen Tea

Peach Keen Tea is a full-bodied black tea blended with Maine raspberries, Maine peaches and marigold.  Excellent Iced or hot.   Caffeinated tea.

This is a seasonal tea, blended in the spring, summer and early fall.

The black tea base is a combination of Assam and Ceylon (named from the regions they are grown).  The tea leaves are grown and dried to remain whole.  As you steep the tea in hot water, you will be able to view the leaves opening back up to release the tea flavors.

ICED TEA:  The Peachy Keen blend is lovely iced for summer days and winter days and iced to be used in cocktails and mocktails, is lovely too.  Use 1/4 cup of the tea blend steeped in 1 gallon of boiling water for 4 minutes.  Add sweetener to taste and cool in refrigerator.  (If steeped over 4 minutes the tea will burn and have a bitter taste – if this happens, add a ¼ teaspoon baking soda.  Adding the baking soda will also clear up the tea if it becomes cloudy.

HOT TEA:  The soft fruity flavors make this an excellent hot tea.  Use 1 teaspoon of the tea in 1 cup of boiling water for 4 minutes.  Add sweetener.

We have used raspberries and peaches from many farms around Maine but most recently using Beth’s Farm in Warren, Maine.  Visiting Beth’s farm in a totally wonderful experience.  The team is excellent at growing quality fruits, veggies, flowers and herbs. And did I say that they make hot donuts in the summer on Saturdays!!  They also serve warm apple crisp and blueberry crisp with homemade whipped cream – Yum!  And in the fall they have a fantastic corn maze and apple picking.
